q: is every meteorological concern doomed/destined/predisposed to be not only untrustworthy, but inept in their conveyance of information?
a: yes. because numbers are hard and it’s often difficult to discern between the condensation tunnel of an enhanced-fujita level 5 (a.k.a. “finger of god”), and the wing-tip vortices/distrail/high-altitude contrail (née condensation trail) of a cessna 150 that’s tail-spinning down to earth due an iced up venturi and overloading in the cargo area…plus sometimes when the airstrip has vasi’s (no red-over-white-delight THIS time!) and papi’s and odal’s, it makes it look like LIGHTING! you can never really tell for sure.
[any airman will be quick to point out the specific bullshit packed into the latter of the answer. let it be known that such measure was intentional, i was just metering the rapacious idiocy of meteorologists. also: 63 has been greater than 69 for about forty years.]
