phenomenal and groundbreaking, this band was. i remember being at northern lights in 1987 and seeing the cover art for songs about fucking on the new release wall. blew my little mind just with that.
and if you should have any doubt about big black’s influence: listen to the album twitch (1986) by ministry (VERY euro-synth and clubby), then listen to their 1988 release land of rape and honey.
