Justice : “Stress”
I watched this a month ago but was only blown away upon recalling it, out of the blue, just now. Raw young impulse to violence paired with the queasy realism of the amazing Man Bites Dog.
man bites dog is the the most electrifying film in its genre, bar none. i truly love it.
and i remember watching the video embedded above, too, and thinking that the buttress or deadman anchor in which it related song and flippancy to was the easily unnoticed sampling of devo’s “jocko homo”, recorded in 1977.

clever. devo is the “de-evolution” band, and i have mentioned them before. quite.
(the above linked video is from an second edit and it features paul schaefer, dan akroyd, and jim belushi (you’ll only recognize them because now i’ve told ya that they’re in it), because they were so amazed by the video and the band that they begged to be included.)
