person 2: actually, since it’s only one specific article of vandalism, it’s technically “graffito”. if there were, perhaps, another instance nearby, then you might choose to use the italian term “graffiti”, for it is the pluralization of the singular “graffito”.
person 1: i hope someone ends up murdering you in your sleep.
person 2: would you please refrain from using gerunds in my presence? for i find them droll. upon deeper consideration, do so for thyself. i don’t mean to demean, but i would be remiss if i didn’t point out that such usage makes one seem pedestrian in polite company.
